The Out-of-School Care Program is located in the gymnasium and provides care for children who are attending the school and are in Grades 1 - 5. We are open 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM on non-school days during the school year such as Professional Development days, Teacher’s Convention and Spring Break. The Program provides a healthy afternoon snack which meets the guidelines mentioned in Canada Food Guide.
The Program adheres to and goes above and beyond in meeting all the requirements set out in the Early Learning and Childcare Act and Regulations. The qualified educators strive to meet, promote and nurture the developmental needs of children such as – mental, emotional, spiritual and physical. The program is an inclusive environment and meets the needs of all children.
We provide activities that are innovative and engage active child involvement. Children are directly involved in the planning and implementation of their weekly experiences. They are encouraged to suggest activities at group time for the following week. They are also involved in the preparation of materials, arranging props and setting up equipment. Families are encouraged and welcomed to participate and visit our program. We believe that parent involvement in the OSC program will bring about benefits for the whole family. Parents can participate by donating supplies or equipment, accompanying your child on field trips or demonstrating a special skill, hobby or cultural celebration.
